Modern Theatre dance is a rhythmic dance style which originated in America before travelling to the rest of the world. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. This is a highly energetic dance style.
The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is the world’s leading dance examinations board. Formed in 1904 it is today a registered educational charity and is the only organisation that covers the full spectrum of dance examinations on a truly global scale.
Our classes begin at the Grade 2 and continue through to the Advanced Levels, including preparatory classes for those heading towards a professional career in dance.
