Exams

Each year, The Perth School of Ballet offers exams to Ballet and Modern students. These exams are not compulsory but are usually recommended for students demonstrating a certain level of aptitude in their classes.

Exam dates will be available during Term 2. Information regarding exams will also be available at that time.

Cecchetti Ballet Exams

The Cecchetti Ballet Exams will be held early in Term 3. These exams are for students who have demonstrated strong classical technique. Teachers will recommend students at their discretion. Students must attend a minimum of 2 classes per week in their grade (for Grades 5 and up a minimum of 3 classes is required). All candidates must attend the Cecchetti WA Holiday Course.

ISTD Exams

ISTD Exams are held late in Term 3. Again, students with strong technique in Modern dance will be invited to participate in these exams by their teacher. Grades 3 and above are required to do 2 classes per week. Candidates will also be required to do 2 to 3 extra classes (usually on Sunday) just prior to the exams.

PSB Classical & Modern Exams

The Perth School of Ballet hold internal exams for any students who wish to participate. Exams are held in our dance studio and students are examined by a guest teacher. This exam gives students a good indication of their progress in their grade syllabus. Dates for these exams are usually just prior or just after the corresponding Cecchetti or ISTD exams.
