Cecchetti Ballet

Since its inception, The Perth School of Ballet has been training ballet teachers and students using the Cecchetti Ballet Method.

Cecchetti Ballet Australia (Cecchetti) has been training ballet teachers and students since 1934. It has a proud heritage directly linked to the classical traditions of 19th century Europe. Enrico Cecchetti contributed significantly to the development and strength of Russian ballet. He was a great virtuoso dancer, a world acclaimed teacher and an innovator ahead of his time.

Today, Cecchetti Ballet remains an innovator in Australian dance education. It is an energetic organisation truly dedicated to the art of ballet.

The timeless Cecchetti Principles of grace, balance and line form the basis of a sound training syllabus that has been developed to meet the needs of today’s modern child – teaching co-ordination, poise, confidence, rhythmical sense and musicality while ensuring that the process is still fun!

The fully qualified, carefully trained and registered teachers of Cecchetti Ballet Australia are committed to providing a stable and secure foundation for each student’s training – whether for purely recreational enjoyment or as the beginnings of a career in dance. The Cecchetti teacher training courses prepare them to teach with a safe and secure technical base, sound knowledge of anatomy and basic physical faults, good teaching practices and the historical background of the art of classical ballet.

We offer classes in Ballet from Grade 2 to Advanced Levels, including preparatory classes for those heading towards a professional career in ballet.
